Traveling and Training

Steve and I definitely spend our fair share of time in hotels. It seems like just when we unpack our suitcases we are off again! While I try to book accommodations with nice fitness centers, I tend to be more worried about whether they will be serving those giant waffles for breakfast!

You never know what to expect when it comes to hotel gyms. Some have fancy cardio machines that cost more than my car, others have mats and yoga blocks and medicine balls, and many are just plain scary. Sometimes the gym is completely occupied as though everyone in the hotel decided to workout at the same time. Is that even possible? Apparently, it is. If that is ever the case, I lace up my running shoes and head outside, or I try one of my workouts that can be done in the tiny space between the bed and the pull-out couch!

To be honest, I kinda like a challenge. Just ask Steve. I can (and will) workout anywhere. I love those giant waffles way too much to skip a workout because of an inadequate gym.  So, I always pack a resistance band, deck of cards, etc. just in case the fitness center is lacking the necessary equipment and/or the space. Remember, ANYONE can workout ANYWHERE with ANYTHING. You just need to get a little creative.
