With Earth Day this week, I am reminded of my beautiful surroundings that sadly, I tend to take for granted . So today, I will stop and smell the roses...literally. I am going to enjoy the breeze, soak up the sun, and really appreciate His incredible creations! The Easter lilies are in full bloom and their sweet-smelling aroma fills the air. I forgot how amazing they smell! The birds are singing, the bunnies hop by, and the squirrels are forever chasing each other! Tonight, instead of racing home, I am going to head to the river and watch the sunset from the pier. The magnificent colors of an ever-changing sunset should never be ignored.
With all the despair, the tragedy, the bad, and the hurt, we need days like this. Days where we push all that is wrong with our lives off to the side for a moment, and truly enjoy all that is good, beautiful, spectacular, and breathtaking!
So, go ahead- stop and smell the roses. Happy Earth Day.
