More and more, it seems the BAD outweighs the GOOD. Last night, as I said my prayers, I realized how much I prayed and how little I praised. Loved ones are sick, money is low, disasters plague our world, I honestly could go on and on... But instead, I will stop, and take a moment to think about all the wonderful, beautiful, inspiring things that are also happening. I must learn to never let the negative override the positive.
So often, we get caught up in our past and current misfortunes that we forget to reflect in all the incredible blessings that are right in front of us. In fact, many of the good things in our lives are the result of prior bad experiences. Our character is built through the tough times, our faith when we are lost, and our strength when we fall down. We are blessed with so much more "good" then we could ever imagine.
Tonight, I will praise all the good- my loving family, my supportive friends, the magnificent sunsets, the opportunities, the eternal hope - but I will also praise the bad. For it is in both the good and the bad that we are who we are, and who we strive to be...
